Remote Education/Homeschooling During the COVID-19 Pandemic, School Attendance Problems, and School Return–Teachers’ Experiences and Reflections

According to Norway’s Educational Act (§2-1), all children and youths from age 6 16 have a right an obligation attend free inclusive education, most of them public schools. Attending school is important for students’ social academic development learning; however, some do not caused by myriad possible reasons. Interventions students with attendance problems (SAPs) must be individually adopted each student based on careful assessment the difficulties strengths individuals in student’s environment. Homeschooling might one intervention SAPs; researchers stakeholders agree that this optimal intervention. Schools were closed middle March 2020 due COVID-19 pandemic provided opportunity investigate remote education more closely. An explorative study was conducted analyzed 248 teachers’ in-depth perspectives how use integrate experiences period SAPs when schools reopen. Moreover, whether return would harder or easier SAP following investigated. The useful planning who been absent prolonged periods.
